(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun is extending the suspension on the gas tax.
Gov. Braun initially suspended the 7% Gasoline Usage Tax for 30 days back in early April.
The new extension will now make that a 60-day suspension, which is the maximum the law allows.
“Making life more affordable for Hoosiers will always be my top priority. Suspending both the gas tax and excise tax gives Hoosiers meaningful relief for the next month,” Gov. Braun said.
The measure is expected to give Hoosiers a 12% discount on the average price of gasoline.
Governor Braun also announced that he will increase the mileage reimbursement rate for state employees who utilize their own vehicles for work-related travel.
