Greendale council member arrested on Friday

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- A Greendale City Council member was arrested on numerous charges related to theft on Friday.
46-year-old Brett “Mooch” Hamilton is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the Dillsboro Civic Club, where he had served as the organization’s president.
Indiana State Police investigators say Hamilton used money from the Dillsboro Civic Club for personal gain between 2018 and 2025.
He was arrested on preliminary charges of Theft, Fraud, Money Laundering, Corrupt Business Influence, and Official Misconduct.
Hamilton has served as a Greendale City Council member since at least January 2024.
