(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter is getting a grant in recognition of their pet adoption efforts.
The shelter has been awarded $2,000 from the Best Friends Animal Society, a national animal welfare organization working to save cats and dogs in America’s shelters.
Greensburg successfully completed the Best Friends Bring Love Home Challenge in December which was nationwide initiative to increase pet adoptions.
The local initiative led them to clearing every dog kennel in the shelter for the first time ever.
“Being awarded this grant from Best Friends means we can keep that incredible momentum going! This challenge, and grant, along with new practices such as online forms, and Bi-lingual applications to help language barriers, will have lasting effects for the pets in our care, and for our community,” said Larami Vailes, Adoption and Rescue Coordinator.
