(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter has reached a historic moment.
Every available dog has been fostered or adopted which has cleared their kennels for the first time ever.
The achievement comes just weeks after their beloved director Minde Meyers passed away.
Following her passing, all available dogs at the shelter were sponsored in her memory.
On Saturday, the shelter announced 1-year-old Silo was the last dog available for adoption. Silo has now received a new home.
“The Staff has worked tirelessly to make this happen, not just today but every day. This has been a tremendous year of growth for us. Thank you to our community for always supporting us,” the shelter said.
The shelter added that they still have several cats who are in need of a home.
