(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The initiative to bring a new pool to Greensburg is getting additional funds.
The Decatur County Community Foundation (DCCF) recently launched a dollar-for-dollar match for any organization or individual who wants to support the project.
DCCF will match any donations up to $300,000 from now until February 28.
After hearing about the matching program, the Alma Taylor Foundation has given a $10,000 donation.
“This particular grant is a little beyond the normal scope of the Alma Taylor Foundation, but we felt it was important to the community,” said Alma Taylor Foundation board president Dick Glaser.
The Alma Taylor Foundation’s mission is preserve the heritage and development of downtown Greenburg. The Foundation was started thanks to a significant gift from Alma Taylor, a 1920 graduate of Greensburg High School.
This gift brings the community’s contributions to $42,052 of the $300,000 match goal.
The pool is estimated to cost $4.5 million and there has been about half of that raised so far.
