(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Community members are invited to a public display of patriotism on Friday in Greensburg.
The tradition of flying USA flags on Moscow Road over I-74 began several years ago by Greensburg resident Robin Meyer.
“This is one small way, for one short hour, that we show our patriotism and thankfulness to the greatest nation on earth. We leave politics out of this event to show that we are one nation, under God, and we are indivisible,” Meyer said.
Anybody is invited to join as the event attracts people of all ages, including families with young kids.
The event will take place at 12 p.m. on July 4 and the bridge is located near 2071 North County Road 100 West in Greensburg.
The group also holds similar flag flying demonstrations on Memorial Day, September 11 and Veterans Day.
Meyer hopes this unique tradition catches on at other overpasses across Southeast Indiana.
