Greensburg native Ellie Acra leaving White House role
Updated: 28 minutes ago

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Greensburg native Ellie Acra has announced her departure from the White House.
Acra joined the President Donald Trump administration in July of 2025 and planned to only be in the role for a short period of time.
That's because she and her fiance have been planning a wedding, and she will remain in Indiana following the marriage which takes place later this month.
When she joined the administration, she was initially in the White House Travel Office but then transitioned over to the White House Press Office.
She worked directly with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and other key administration officials.
Acra has had a front row seat to the Trump administration and been on several presidential trips, both domestically and overseas.
She was often found at White House press conferences, ceremonies, around world leaders, managing national media members, traveling on Air Force One and being present for other high-profile events.
In her announcement, she reflected back to 2016 when she was just 14-years-old and attended a rally for then-candidate Donald Trump in Indiana. Acra says she was immediately captivated by the energy that surrounded the Make America Great Again movement.
“The experiences I’ve now had of traveling with President Trump, watching him sign historic orders in the Oval Office, and witnessing him engage with the press nearly every day is truly full circle for me,” Acra said.

Acra describes the experience as the honor of a lifetime to have worked for President Trump and says she is extremely grateful for the opportunity.
“Not every press wrangler gets to work for the most accessible President in American history, and I consider myself truly blessed that I did,” Acra said.
Acra is a Purdue graduate and she also interned for The 812 for a few years. We’re very proud of her and her future is incredibly bright!
