Greensburg Rotary honors community difference maker

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Greensburg Rotary Club presented one of their highest awards to a well-known volunteer in Decatur County.

Dennis Fogle was awarded the ‘Paul Harris Fellowship Award’ during the Rotary’s Christmas party this weekend.

The Burney resident has made contributions in several different areas including with Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Decatur County United Fund, Tree County Players, Tree City Fall Festival, Greensburg Optimist Club, St. Mary’s Parish, Hospice of South-Central Indiana and more.

“Dennis Fogle invests deeply in people, encourages others, builds relationships, and always looks for ways to make a positive difference—no matter how big or small the moment may seem,” said Lora Williams, Paul Harris Fellow Chair.

The Rotary award is given to people who exemplify the Rotary ideal of 'Service Above Self' and is reserved for those who have made outstanding contributions to the community.

Fogle reacted by saying, "When Lora called me to tell me about this event and award, I did research on Paul Harris and the meaning of this award.”

He added that he was honored to be recognized for his community service and hopes to continue making a difference for many years to come.

During the party, the Rotary also spoke about the proposed Inclusion Baseball Field, which would be built to create a space for kids of all abilities to play baseball.

The Greensburg Rotary Club says they intend to be the lead fundraiser and organizer for the project. Once the project is completed, the field will be turned over to the Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department.
