Greensburg teen engineers unique vehicle

ree

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Greensburg eighth grader is hitting the road in a creative way.

14-year-old Jesse Ruble took pieces from two beds to build his own vehicle.

“I used one box spring as a frame and then I supported it with the braces on the bottom of the bed frame,” Jesse said.

He also used a pallet and metal bed frame to construct the vehicle frame., and also added a trailer door.

It wasn’t drivable until he added his electric scooter to power it.

What inspired Ruble to engineer this unique contraction? His answer: “I was bored.”

He credits his mother for getting the items to build the vehicle.

Ruble isn’t done yet as he is planning to make a few more modifications.

“I’m going to add a board to the back of the trailer door so it can go up easier, and then I will probably put a canopy on the back as well,” he said.

While he has several years to decide, his plans after school involve schooling for welding and engineering and he also has an interest in the military.

One goal that is approaching that he looks forward to is obtaining his drivers license in two years.
