(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Greensburg woman created a free community meal on Friday.
Emilee Jones and her friends all pitched in to provide a soup meal at the Branch Coffee Gathering Place.
She organized it because she knows how it feels to struggle, and remembers her family getting help when they needed it.
The event resulted in nearly 200 meals being served and money being raised for Greensburg Bread of Life.
Jones says the event exceeded her expectations and it showed her that sometimes people are just wanting someone to step up and help.
“I just want the community to know that there are people that care. Sometimes we all need a little help or kindness, and I hope this reminds everyone that we are not alone. We are a community that looks out for each other,” Jones told The 812.
