Groups wave flags over I-74 in Decatur County

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Two patriotic displays took place on I-74 overpasses in Decatur County on July 4. 

Approximately 100 people gathered on the Moscow Road bridge to wave American flags above the interstate. 

This initiative was created by Greensburg resident Robin Meyer and takes place every Independence Day, Memorial Day, September 11 and Veterans Day. 

“This is one small way that we show our patriotism and thankfulness to the greatest nation on earth.  We leave politics out of this event to show that we are one nation, under God, and we are indivisible,” Meyer told The 812. 

Another group gathered on the overpass at South County Road 600 East in New Point. It’s led by Bill Metz and has taken place the past few years during patriotic holidays.
