(SUNMAN, Ind.) – The Laughery Valley Amateur Radio Club (LVARC) will host their annual Field Day this weekend
Community members are invited to view live radio demonstrations, portable antenna setup, emergency power operations and get hands-on operating opportunities.
The event is ideal for those curious about ham radios or interested in emergency communications.
“Field Day is a nationwide event where amateur radio operators practice emergency communications by setting up temporary stations and making contacts across the country,” organizers said.
It begins at 2 p.m. Saturday and will be held at the St. Paul United Methodist Church Park which is located at 8805 State Road 101.
“Licensed operators and newcomers alike can try making real radio contacts under the guidance of experienced members,” organizers added.
