(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A benefit concert organized by a state representative candidate has led to additional funding for the Dearborn County Clearinghouse.
Indiana House District 68 candidate Hunter Collins organized ‘Hardcore Against Hunger’ which was a concert at Agner Hall in Lawrenceburg on Friday.
The event helped generated $500 and nonperishable food items for the Clearinghouse.
Collins said this marked Lawrenceburg’s first hardcore concert in over a decade and the mission was more than music.
"This was about bringing people together and turning that energy into real help for our neighbors. The response from the community, especially for a first time event, was truly inspiring,” Collins said.
Collins added that Lawrenceburg photographer and musician Jaden Stutts also helped organize the fundraiser.
They plan to make Hardcore Against Hunger a recurring benefit series, with future events already in early planning stages.
"Our goal is to keep building something that continues to support the local community, while maintaining the grassroots accessibility that allows folks from all walks of life to come together,” Collins added.
