(SAN DIEGO, CA.) – Batesville native Bryan Hoeing will miss the entire 2026 season.
The San Diego Padres reliever will have season-ending surgery to repair the flexor tendon in his right arm.
"Not the way I wanted the season to unfold, but necessary for what's ahead. Even when it doesn't make sense, I trust God has a plan and this is part of His journey for me," Hoeing posted on Instagram.
He added, "Looking forward to being back out there next year!"
Bryan missed a substantial portion of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury before returning and pitching eight innings for the Padres.
One of his appearances occurred while San Diego played the Reds at Great American Ball Park and Hoeing earned the win. Read that story here.
Hoeing had a breakout season in 2024 when he posted a 2.18 ERA in 34 appearances for the Marlins and Padres.
