(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A global semiconductor supply chain issue is impacting production at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana in Greensburg.
The plant has been forced to make production adjustments, which include temporary reductions or production suspensions,
“We are currently managing an industrywide semiconductor supply chain issue, making strategic adjustments to production as necessary to carefully manage the available supply of parts and meet the needs of our customers,” said Honda spokesperson Chris Abbruzzese.
The production slowdown is expected to continue into next week. The global issue has caused some concern for local employees.
“When production adjustments are made, our Honda associates have the option to work at the impacted facilities, use their paid time off, or take time off with no pay,” he said.
Other Honda plants in the United States have also made similar production adjustments due to the global issue.
