'Hoosiers' movie celebration in Milan on November 7

(MILAN, Ind.) – The community is invited to the 40th anniversary celebration of the movie ‘Hoosiers’ on Saturday, November 7.
It will be held at 1 p.m. in the Milan High School gym and is being organized by the Milan 54 Hoosiers Museum.
The movie will be shown and there will be a panel discussion with several people associated with the movie, including the writer, director and actors.
“This discussion is expected to give some insight and behind the scenes information on the making of the movie. If time allows, there may be some opportunity for some questions and answers,” organizers said.
Organizers are hoping to bring Maris Vilanis, who played Jimmy Chitwood, to the celebration as well.
They are working to authorization to show the “Directors Cut” of the movie which features additional scenes that are not public.
Organizers are also inviting members of the 1954 Milan team to the celebration as well.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the Milan 54 Museum at 201 West Carr Street.
Tickets can also be purchased online by clicking here or at the door but there will be limited tickets available on that day.
The museum is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be extended hours on November 7 as well.
