INDOT to lower the speed limit on U.S. 50 in Aurora

(AURORA, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that they plan to make a speed limit reduction on U.S. 50 in Aurora this week.  

It comes at the same time as another speed reduction on U.S. 50 in Versailles this week.

Officials will reduce the speed limit from 45 miles-per-hour to 35 miles-per hour just west of State Road 350/ State Road 56. 

The current speed limit of 45 miles-per-hour between Locust Street and Stewart Street will now be permanent. 

The reduction is expected to occur Thursday and INDOT said they are lowering the speed limit in order to improve safety along U.S. 50.
