(INDIANAPOLIS) – An Indiana State Trooper in the Indianapolis area knows all too well about the dangers of drunk driving.
Tpr. Keith Martin's patrol car has been struck by an impaired driver three times in his four year career.
The most recent incident happened around 4 a.m. Sunday while he was on the scene of a jackknifed semi on I-465 near Allisonville Road.
Tpr. Martin sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and rushed to the hospital. The ISP trooper is now at home and recovering.
The driver was identified as 21-year-old Juan Cuatlacuatl and was charged with Operating A Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Injury.
"Our first responders are out everyday putting themselves in harms way to help, please stop crashing into them,” ISP Indianapolis District Commander Lt. Josh Watson said.
