Jennings Co. baseball coach unexpectedly passes away

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – The Jennings County community is mourning the unexpected loss of the high school's head baseball coach.
The Jennings County Athletic Department announced that BJ Sigler had passed away on Thursday.
Sigler was not only a baseball coach but also a dedicated husband and father, a local business owner, a longtime former assistant football coach and a friend to many.
“BJ cared deeply about Jennings County and the people who call it home. Throughout the years, he positively impacted countless student-athletes, coaches, families, and community members,” the school said.
He led the baseball program since 2022 and had also served as a travel baseball coach in the past.
The school acknowledged the impact this sudden loss will have on students.
“Counselors are available at JCHS for any student who is struggling or needs someone to talk to during this difficult time,” they stated.
Services for Sigler have not yet been announced.
