(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Laurel woman was flown to the hospital after a crash in Decatur County on Sunday night.
Police say 35-year-old Emily Howard was driving on State Road 3 when her vehicle struck a utility pole.
“The impact of the vehicle into the utility pole caused the vehicle to spin around and come to a rest facing north. The vehicle sustained significant damage and caught fire, which was quickly extinguished by arriving first responders,” the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department added.
Howard had to be extricated from the vehicle before being flown to an Indianapolis hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The accident did cause a power outage in the area.
