Was invited by athletic director

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg bus driver Amber Pickett didn’t expect the attention she has received this week.
Pickett volunteered to help the stranded occupants of a bus after it caught fire on I-275 on Sunday.
She didn't realize the occupants were the IU Indy men’s basketball team until she picked them up.
Pickett took them to a Greendale restaurant and said, “The whole team was really great and for what they just went through, they were all nice and just a great group of kids.”
Following the incident, Pickett spoke with The 812 and then was interviewed the following day on WLWT.
She says she has even received a media request from ABC News in New York.
On Thursday, she received an invitation from the IU Indy Athletic Director to attend the team’s basketball game against Wright State on Saturday.
“I’m excited to go and see the team under good circumstances this time,” she said.
Amber says the attention has been a bit overwhelming but appreciates the kind messages and well wishes.
