(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Lawrenceburg City Council member Dylan Liddle is one of 25 officials nationwide to be chosen for the NewDEAL (Developing Exceptional American Leaders).
NewDEAL is a selective national network of Democratic state and local elected officials with more than 200 members who are recognized for their forward-thinking approach to making government work to solve modern challenges.
Alumni include former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who joined as a County Commissioner; and U.S. Rep. Janelle Bynum of Oregon, who joined as a state legislator.
Liddle says the time is now for local leaders to fight for constituents on issues that impact our area.
“I look forward to supporting my city by building stronger partnerships between local government, schools, and employers to prepare the next generation for success. It is an honor to be a part of NewDEAL’s efforts to expand opportunities for Americans in communities nationwide,” Liddle says.
Liddle was selected to join NewDEAL in part because of his commitment to promote responsible growth in Lawrenceburg. In his work on the council, he has remained focused on attracting new businesses, supporting existing employers, and expanding housing opportunities so more families can afford to live and thrive in Lawrenceburg.
Through in-person and virtual convenings, Liddle will work with colleagues across the country.
Later this month, nearly 100 NewDEAL Leaders will gather at a conference in Washington, D.C. to share policy ideas on key issues.
