Lawrenceburg is one of only schools in area to have Hope Squad

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg junior is one of just 45 students nationwide to be named to the Hope Squad National Council.
Hope Squad is a suicide prevention program inside certain high schools, where student members are trained to recognize signs of distress while connecting peers to help and hope. Lawrenceburg is the only Dearborn County school to have the program.
Emily Clark will serve on the national committee this coming school year.
She will continue to be active with Lawrenceburg’s Hope Squad while also collaborating with other members of the leadership team across he country. She will also participate in webinars, research opportunities and serve as a mental health advocate on the national stage.
“It’s a great achievement for Emily to represent the state and our school on behalf of Hope Squad. Hope Squad is changing the conversation around mental health stigma and helping struggling children and adolescents feel seen, heard and valued by their peers, so the work they do is invaluable,” said Hope Squad Sponsor Heidi Frost of Lawrenceburg High School.
