(ST. LOUIS, MO.) -- A local volleyball team won a big tournament in St. Louis over the weekend.

The 14U Ignite Volleyball team is part of the Southeastern Indiana Volleyball Club (SEIVB) and has players from Batesville, East Central, Milan, Lawrenceburg, South Dearborn and St. Nicholas.

They were one of 225 teams who competed at the Nike Mid-East Qualifier (MEQ) in downtown St. Louis.

The 14U Ignite Team did not drop a set in the first two days of play and earned a spot in the Gold bracket in their division.

On the third day, they came back from an early deficit to beat their opponent and advance to the championship game.

It was a hard fought title game as the girls won two of three sets to claim the first place trophy.

The roster includes MakenLeigh Baylor, Morgan Ewing, Breauna Broshears, Ava Burk, Maci Smith, Grayson Messer, Audi Miller, Ella Riehle and Drew Beetz.

This is the second SEIVB team to ever win the MEQ and the team will be competing in the Thoroughbred Challenge in Louisville this weekend.
