Local communities receive state road, infrastructure grants

(SOUTHEAST INDIANA) – Several local communities will be receiving funds as part of the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG).
The CCMG was established in 2016 and serves to advance infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve roads and bridges.
Since its enactment, the program has awarded more than $2 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.
Here are some communities that are receiving the grants:
Dearborn County received $481,871.89;
Dupont received $15,734.48;
Greendale received $499,832.80;
Jefferson County received $582,015.20;
Jennings County received $1 million;
Lawrenceburg received $530,631.20;
Ohio County received $1 million;
Patriot received $100,444;
Rising Sun received $160,196;
Scott County received $526,090.14;
Switzerland County received $858,396; and
Vevay received $199,051.60.
Carthage received $206,428;
Connersville received $350,005.35;
Decatur County received $491,348.23;
Franklin County received $951,431.04;
Jennings County received $1 million;
North Vernon received $984,700;
Ripley County received $974,285.60;
Rush County received $591,159.20;
Shelby County received $1 million; and
Versailles received $68,496.32.
"As the Crossroads of America, it is important our infrastructure is well-maintained," State Senator Randy Maxwell said. "The Community Crossings Matching Grant program helps our communities repair roads and bridges and gives them funds for future infrastructure projects. I congratulate the communities and counties who received these funds."
Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs.
