Taking place this weekend

(NEW ALSACE, Ind.) — Know someone who enjoys American history?
No matter their age, there will be a one-of-a-kind exhibit in New Alsace this weekend that is very much worth the visit.
Fr. Jonathan Meyer has built an American history exhibit that will be on display for the St. Paul Summer Festival in New Alsace on Saturday and Sunday.
The indoor display features everything from authentic World War II items to an exhibit that features the 11 Saints who were born in the United States.
“This is a celebration of America and this is about looking at the blessings that America has received. As convicted Christians, these are the things I believe we should know,” Fr. Meyer told The 812.
There's also quite a bit of memorabilia from 1976 as Fr. Meyer enjoys collecting items from America’s bicentennial.
You will also see original LEGO designs built of Washington buildings and monuments, along with an exhibit dedicated to Pope Leo, plus beer cans from 1976!
The exhibit is free to to attend and it will be open from 5-8PM Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday!
After stopping by, there is fried chicken and dressing (we hear the dressing is amazing) plus other food and activities for the whole family at the festival.
The 812 previewed the exhibit on Thursday and here is our opinion:
I'm lucky to see a lot of unique things in this area. This exhibit is well worth the visit for parents who have a child who enjoys learning history. Especially families who want to show their child how God remains present in America.
There are also unique displays in this exhibit for adults, including unique military memorabilia from Normandy and there's even Knights of Columbus stuff.
I hope you stop by as there are also displays that show how our Founding Fathers, and those who came after them, relied on God and religion for the pivotal decisions they made.
