(RISING SUN, Ind.) – A Rising Sun senior has received a huge scholarship as she prepares for a future in nursing.
Maggie Mossburger has been awarded the coveted Lilly Endowment Scholarship through the Ohio County Community Foundation (OCCF).
She will receive full tuition plus additional funds to cover required books and fees at any Indiana college or university for four years.
“I am planning to pursue a career in Nursing and specialize as an Anesthesiologist so that I can help make patients comfortable. I hope to sign with a hospital to help with future education and costs,” Mossburger said.
She was selected by an independent committee which reviewed academic performance, citizenship, leadership, community involvement, school activities, and essays.
“Maggie is a very active and involved student. Her application, interview, academics, leadership roles, community service, extra-curriculars and work experience were extremely impressive to the Scholarship Committee,” said OCCF executive director Jane Angst.
The other semi-finalists for Ohio County’s Lilly Scholarship were Morgan Esposito, Olivia Graver, Reese Merica and Eliana Titkemeyer.
