(GUILFORD, Ind.) – State Senator Randy Maxwell (R-Guilford) says now is the time to redraw Indiana’s congressional districts.
The District 43 state senator said his decision comes after careful consideration and conversations he’s had with constituents.
"I am in full support of President Trump and his initiatives, and I think it is important that we strengthen conservative representation, aligning with President Trump’s vision for fair maps that reflect our values and bolster the Make America Great Again agenda,” Sen. Max well said.
The announcement comes just a few days after reports that Indiana GOP Senate leaders felt they didn’t have enough votes for a mid-decade district redraw.
Governor Mike Braun and the White House have been hoping Indiana lawmakers can redraw the state’s congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
State Sen. Maxwell represents District 43 which includes Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott and Switzerland counties, and portions of Jennings County.
