Local swimmers advance to IHSAA State Finals

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – Some local student-athletes competed in Sectionals Saturday and earned a trip to the IHSAA Girls Swimming State Tournament.
The state finals will take place at the Indiana University Natatorium on February 13 and 14.
Here are the swimmers who are advancing to state:
East Central
The Lady Trojans have had an impressive season and were undefeated coming into Sectionals.
The team is led by Audrey Bumgardner who set several new school records on Saturday.
She will compete in the 200 and 100 Freestyle at state.
Her teammate, Riley Reany, also earned a trip and will swim the 100 Backstroke.
The Trojans will send two relay teams to state. Reaney, Bumgardner, Marey Boone and Sierra Hall will swim in the 200 Medley while Joan Strotman, Elle Jankovsky, Reany and Bumgardner will compete in the 200 Freestyle.
Lawrenceburg
Lawrenceburg will also be represented at state as Erin Burgess earned a trip and will compete in the 100 Yard Backstroke.
Madison
Sunman resident Alejandra Schutte swims for Madison and she was the Sectional champion in 200IM and 100 Breaststroke. Schutte will represent Madison along with her teammates Ava Canida, Lilly Canida and Lillian Datillo.
