(MADISON, Ind.) – Local veterans are asked to attend a burial in Madison on Wednesday.
A veteran will be interred with no family or friends present.
The Jefferson County Veteran Service Office did not identify the individual but said the veteran served in the Indiana National Guard from 1987-1990.
“We are requesting veterans to come attend this funeral service as no veteran should be buried alone,” the office said.
It will take place at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery which is located at 1415 North Gate Road in Madison.
The service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7.
