"Major McBroom and K-9 Raiko made a great team"

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office announced that K-9 Raiko has passed away from medical issues.
Raiko served on the department for more than 11 years and her primary responsibilities were to locate missing persons, suspects, and evidence.
She also located numerous people involved in criminal activity from armed robberies to suspects running on foot, the sheriff’s office added.
“Raiko was also active in the public at schools, fairs, and community events over the years. She interacted with everyone that she could,” Sheriff Shane McHenry said.
Major Ben McBroom was her K-9 handler and the two of them helped train other police agencies in the U.S. as well as the U.S. military.
Sheriff McHenry added, “K-9 Raiko was a tremendous asset during her years of service with the Sheriff’s Office. Major McBroom and K-9 Raiko made a great team and I always knew we could count on them to get the job done no matter what the mission was."
