(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A longtime Franklin County deputy has announced his bid for sheriff.
Brad Lecher has served in local law enforcement for nearly 20 years both as a jail officer and Merit Deputy for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
The Oldenburg native has completed advanced law enforcement training throughout his career, including the IMPD Leadership Academy, and became the department’s first certified Accident Reconstructionist.
"I’m a husband, father, farmer, and lifelong public servant, grounded in faith, family, and conservative values," Lecher said.
Lecher is vying for the seat currently held by Sheriff Peter Cates who is term-limited.
“As sheriff, I’ll bring experience, integrity, and vision to keep Franklin County safe and thriving,” he said.
The primary for sheriff will take place in May 2026.
