Eagles have successful weekend

(OSGOOD, Ind.) - It was a milestone weekend for the longtime coach of Jac-Cen-Del baseball.
Coach David Bradshaw won his 550th game when the Eagles upset Southwestern Hanover on Friday night.
The team followed that up with an impressive 3-1 win over rival South Ripley on Saturday afternoon.
Bradshaw began coaching in 1985 after playing a few years in the Montreal Expos organization. He is currently ranked 35th on Indiana’s all-time winning list.
This year also marks the 25th anniversary of when the Eagles went to the state
championship. Three players on that team have son’s who are starting for Jac-Cen-Del this season. Including Steve Huff’s son, Brody.
“Coach Bradshaw is a great mentor and great person to get advice from. He really helps not only with baseball but also life advice,” said Brody Huff.
Teammate Blake Wagner said, “Getting 550 wins is a really big accomplishment, he knows a lot about baseball and he’s hard on us but that's a good thing, because it pushes us more.”
While the times have changed, Bradshaw’s coaching philosophy has stayed the same and it is noticed by former players who have sons playing right now.
“Sometimes Brody will come home and tell a story about practice and I think, yep that sounds familiar that is what I heard before,” said Steve Huff.
Bradshaw is retiring from teaching this school year but will continue serving as head coach.
