(MADISON, Ind.) – A man is accused of stealing $1 million from his grandmother.
Indiana State Police say 54-year-old Eric Dyer was named power of attorney for his grandmother who lives in Madison.
Dyer is from South Carolina but allegedly withdrew nearly $1M from her bank accounts between 2022 and 2024.
“Investigators also learned that Dyer was behind in paying the victim’s assisted living facility monthly balance,” ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said.
The investigation began after a bank reported suspicious transactions.
Dyer was arrested this morning in Madison and has been charged with Theft, Money Laundering, Corrupt Business Influence, Neglect of a Dependent and Elder Abuse.
