Man arrested after SWAT standoff in Jennings County

Happened on Thursday afternoon

(BUTLERVILLE, Ind.) – A Butlerville man was arrested after a police standoff on Thursday afternoon. 

Jennings County deputies went to a home on County Road 750 East in an effort to locate Jason Daugherty. 

He has been wanted on felony warrants in Jennings and Ripley County, police said. 

Deputies say they went to the home and Daugherty refused to come to the door. 

It led to a two-hour standoff that ended after SWAT team members entered the home and took him into custody. 

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Indiana DNR and the Jennings County dispatchers.
