13 arrested in connection to biker gang fight in Madison

(MADISON, Ind.) – More than a dozen people were arrested in connection to a fight that occurred between motorcycle gangs during the Madison Regatta this summer.
The fight involved members of the Iron Horseman and the Hells Angels and occurred near Shipley’s Tavern in Madison on July 4.
Several people were injured and the inside of the tavern was also damaged, the Indiana State Police said.
The ISP Special Investigations Section has been investigating the fight over the past few months and have coordinated with multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Virginia.
Police arrested 11 people in the Tri-State on Wednesday and two more were apprehended in Richmond, Virginia.
“In one of our community’s busiest and most exciting weekends of the year, individuals from these two organizations chose to engage in criminal activity and cause chaos among law-abiding citizens who wanted to enjoy what Madison has to offer,” said Jefferson County Prosecutor David Sutter.
ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles added that the three-month investigation included the use of Flock cameras to identify and locate suspects.
