(CONNERSVILLE, Ind.) – A driver died after suffering an apparent medical emergency in Connersville on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say a vehicle was traveling on Park Road at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and crashed into a wall next to a Speedway gas station.
First responders arrived to find the driver in critical condition and unresponsive.
Firefighters attempted life-saving efforts but the man later passed away at a local hospital.
“It is believed at this time that driver had suffered a medical emergency while driving, which most likely led to the loss of control of the vehicle and ultimately to the accident,” stated the Connersville Police Department.
There were no other injuries or any major damage to the property. The identity of the man has not been released.
“We send our thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by this tragic accident, including the citizens who were present and rendered aid prior to the arrival of first responders,” the department added.
