(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A St. Paul man has passed away after being struck by a semi in Greensburg on Thursday.
It happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 3 and Freeland Road.
Greensburg Police say 69-year-old Denver Jones was walking across the road when he was struck.
“First aid was rendered on-site by the Greensburg Fire Department and Decatur County EMS Mr. Jones was initially transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital,” the Greensburg Police Department stated.
Jones was later flown to an Indianapolis hospital where he passed away, officials said.
Authorities say the semi was driven by a Rush County man who remained on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.
The incident led to the intersection being closed for a few hours.
