(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A man driving a moped was arrested on drug charges in Jennings County.

North Vernon Police say 50-year-old Michael Wimberly was driving a moped that was speeding on Middle School Road near West Walnut Street.

A traffic stop was initiated which led officers to discover Wimberly has a status of Habitual Traffic Violator (HTV) for life, making it a criminal offense for him to operate a motor vehicle.

Police say a digital scale and a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine was found during the traffic stop.
