Man wanted for kidnapping arrested after multi-county pursuit

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Greensburg man is behind bars after a multi-county pursuit on Wednesday night.
Police say it began in Shelby County around 11 p.m. and entered into Decatur County.
Greensburg police officers threw out stop sticks which deflated three tires, however the suspect continued to drive the car.
Police say the chase went near the entrance of Lake McCoy on State Road 46 when the suspect allegedly crashed into a parked Decatur County Sheriff’s Department vehicle.
The crash brought the pursuit to an end and 49-year-old Jody Anderson was arrested.
No one was injured during the pursuit, but Anderson was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Police say Anderson had existing warrants for Kidnapping, Criminal Confinement, Domestic Battery, Strangulation and Intimidation.
Additional charges in regard to the pursuit are possible, Sheriff Bill Meyerrose said.
Agencies involved in the incident included Greensburg Police, Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Shelbyville Police, Shelby County Sheriff, Indiana State Police, Decatur COunty EMS and Decatur County Communications.
