Martz to hold District 55 campaign kickoff party Saturday

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A candidate for the Indiana House of Representatives District 55 seat will host a campaign kickoff party this weekend.

Democrat Victoria Martz recently announced her bid for the seat as the election will be held in November.

The kickoff party is called “Cheers to Change” and will be held at the White Rabbit Lounge in Versailles from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, February 21.

Martz says she is running to give rural Hoosiers an opportunity to be heard at the Statehouse.

"This event is a chance for us to come together, discuss the future of our community, and start the work of bringing meaningful change to Indiana from a bottom-up approach. Representatives should work for the people who are paying their salaries, not those telling them what to do at the top,” she said.

Martz is an IU McKinney School of Law graduate who is a criminal defense attorney. She also has served as a deputy prosecutor.

She added that the three pillars of her campaign are Rural Relief, Rural Resilience and Rural Reform.
