(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A local attorney has announced her bid for District 55 State Representative.
Victoria Martz says she wants to advocate for Hoosiers by lowering the cost of living and ensuring access to essential services our towns depend on.
She grew up on a farm in Milan and later earned a law degree.
“My community gave me everything—a childhood spent growing vegetables and raising animals, space to run and learn—and today, it’s where I’m raising my daughter,” Martz said. “I want my daughter to go kayaking on the Whitewater River in Brookville just like I did as a teenager. I want her to grow up with the same sense of belonging, opportunity, and care for others.”
She added, “The people in my community work hard and deserve a representative who works just as hard. This is my home and it’s worth fighting for.”
Martz emphasized that the campaign is focused on ensuring rural Indiana is no longer overlooked at the Statehouse.
She added that she is committed to a "bottom-up" approach: listening before decision-making and always putting rural families ahead of political games.
"I'm ready to work hard to earn your trust and your vote," she said.
House District 55 includes all of Fayette, Franklin and Union counties, and portions of Decatur, Ripley and Rush counties in eastern Indiana.
Martz is running as a democrat and will be opposed by incumbent Republican Lindsay Patterson for the District 55 seat.
