Milan man killed in motorcycle crash on S.R. 129

(DELAWARE, Ind.) – A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Ripley County on Monday. 

The crash happened on State Road 129 near the Delaware Fire Department. 

Investigators say a Honda Civic was stopped on S.R. 129 attempting to turn left onto Estelle Drive. 

Another vehicle struck the stopped car from behind which caused the Civic to cross the centerline and collide with a motorcycle. 

40-year-old John Jones, of Milan, was driving the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ripley County Sheriff Rob Bradley said the crash is under investigation, however drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors. 

Other agencies that responded included the Delaware Fire Department, Ripley County EMS, Indiana DNR, Indiana State Police Excise Police, Osgood Police Department, The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, and Ripley County Communications.
