Milan's Kayla Roell wins IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Championship

Defeated a wrestler with a pin in the third round

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Milan High School is no stranger to housing a historic state trophy.
They will be adding another one after Kayla Roell won the inaugural IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Championship on Friday.
She stands alone at the top of the podium after defeating the competition in the 120-pound weight class.
Roell faced off against Aaliyah McLean who is a wrestler from McCutcheon for the state championship. She won by pinning McLean in the third round.
Roell was one of three locals competing at the Girls Wrestling State Tournament. Switzerland County's Klaire Redwine was defeated in the round of 16 and East Central's Leighna Prater finished third overall in her weight class.
