Military cousin surprises Switzerland Co. senior ahead of graduation

(VEVAY, Ind.) – A Switzerland County senior got a huge surprise ahead of graduation! 

Luke Sullivan was playing basketball with friends at school on Thursday morning when a familiar face unexpectedly walked through the gym door. 

His cousin, Dylan Sullivan, is a member of the U.S. Navy and has been stationed in Hawaii since last February. 

Dylan came to the school to surprise Luke and to let him know he will be home for graduation. 

Luke’s dad, Tye, says the two cousins are very close and consider each other the best of friends. 

Dylan joined the Navy after graduating from Switzerland County in 2024. Luke will be attending college this fall as he plans to major in Elementary Education.

Switzerland County High School’s graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 30.
