MMH welcomes first baby of 2026

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Margaret Mary Health in Batesville has welcomed its first baby of the new year. 

Stephanie and Matthew Furnish, of Versailles, welcomed their baby, James, at 6:40 p.m. on January 1. 

The hospital said Stephanie delivered James by C-section after going into labor three weeks early. 

The healthy baby weighs 6 pounds and 12 ounces and will be heading home soon to a full house that includes three other boys.
