Follows successful 2024 season

(MOORES HILL, Ind.) – A Moores Hill teen has signed with AmPro Yamaha as an amateur rider.
The signing follows a successful season on the dirt track for 15-year-old Hunter Carey.
He won the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) season in the Youth 85 big wheel class, earning him the #1 AMA plate as a private racer.
Carey is no stranger to the track as he began dirt bike racing at the 4.
He is also taking part in a family tradition as his great-grandfather, Kirk Kerkhoff, was a drag racer, his grandfather Max Ehrat raced stock mod cars and his dad, Josh, raced quads.
“Hunter enjoys wrenching in the garage on his own bikes. His dad has a degree in off-road power sports and has passed down his knowledge to his son,” Hunter’s mom, Kindra, said.
Hunter is serious about the craft as he trains in Georgia and Florida during the winter months and then in Moores Hill when the weather is warmer.
He added that his passion wouldn't be possible without his family members who help him behind the scenes.
His goal is to defend his 85 title in the GNCC and hopes to qualify for the Loretta Lynn’s AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship
When he is not on the bike he is an avid rock climber, fisherman and track builder. He attends an accredited private online school where he is an Honor Roll student.
