Moscow Covered Bridge closed for foreseeable future

(MOSCOW, Ind.) – The Moscow Covered Bridge in Rush County has suffered significant damage due to a truck. 

Rush County officials announced Monday that the bridge will be closed until further notice. 

The original covered bridge was built in 1886 and added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1986. 

It was destroyed by a tornado in 2008 and was rebuilt using nearly half of the timbers from the original bridge. It reopened in 2010.
