New Batesville nonprofit to help those who are struggling

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A new nonprofit is hoping to connect with adults who are seeking connection, support or simply a listening ear.
Oldenburg native Carson Back has overcome significant obstacles from his past and has a new lease on life.
It's inspired him to create 'The Front Porch Project’ to help others who could use genuine connection, encouragement and a sense of belonging.
Anyone is invited and their first meeting will be held at the Batesville Memorial Public Library from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, April 24. It will be held in Meeting Room A.
Back will talk about his journey that includes both hardship and resilience. There will be other people who speak and all attendees will have a chance to share their stories as well.
“If someone is having trouble with something in life, whether that be loneliness, addiction or even mental illness, we want to be there for them,” Back said.
This nonprofit doesn't just offer a listening ear and friendship. They have also partnered with experts in the area that offer different resources and treatment opportunities.
