New plaque honors Revolutionary War veterans in Versailles

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A new plaque on the Versailles Courthouse Square honors our nation's first patriots.
The Ross’ Run Daughters the American Revolution (DAR) unveiled the plaque recognizing those who served in the Revolutionary War on Saturday morning.
There are 52 Revolutionary veterans who lived or are buried in Ripley County. Each of them were honored during the ceremony.
An Indiana DAR official said that there are approximately 1,300 Revolutionary War veterans buried in Indiana.
The ceremony also included several patriotic songs, speeches and the laying of flowers.
